In 1977 Steven Pollock discovered the extremely rare Tampanensis  that has never been found again up to today. These P. Tampanensis truffle spores (and all other tampanensis) originate from that specimen that has been bred since.

Spores of Psilocybe tampanensis Pollock P. tampanensis magic mushroom spore vials are manufactured under sterile conditions and should be stored in the dark and refrigerated (2-8°C) to extend the spores’ shelf life.

Vial vs. Syringes

In most cases, spore vials outperform spore syringes. With this high-quality spore vial, you’ll get the best results when growing Pollock P. tampanensis magic mushrooms. Using spore vials will increase the success rate of colonization and fruiting.

Instructions to use a Pollock P. tampanensis spore vial

The tops of the vials are covered with a round elastic film.

Shake the Pollock P. tampanensis spore vial vigorously to evenly distribute the spores throughout the vial. Remove the defensive plug top from the vial’s head and disinfect the septa with alco prep. Unload the sterile needle and remove the needle’s defensive top. The needle should be inserted through the septa.

In the spore arrangement, the needle’s purpose should be reduced. Pull the needle unclogger back gradually, allowing the needle to fill with spore solution. A spore arrangement of 3 milliliters is to colonize 1 liter/1.05 quart of substrate. After filling the needle with the required amount of spore arrangement, gradually remove the needle from the vial.

There are a few techniques to look into to continue on to the vaccination cycle:

Dropping the spore solution onto the substrate _ Psilocybe tampanensis spore

After you’ve prepared your own substrate or cakes, you can syringe the Pollock P. tampanensis spore solution directly onto them. Slowly press the plunger until droplets of spore solution emerge from the needle. Every dropplet that comes into contact with the substrate has the potential to become a mycelium growth point. Spread these droplets evenly over the substrate to colonize it with mycelium.

Injection through injection ports

This is nearly identical to splattering the spore solution onto the substrate. Pull the port protection cap back to open the injection port. To sterilize the injection port entry, use an alco prep. With the needle, pierce the opening. Now, evenly distribute the spore solution throughout the substrate inside the spawn bag or grow box.

Liquid culture for faster colonization and stronger mycelium

When the Pollock P. tampanensis spore arrangement is in a’shower of supplements, for example, the Liquid Culture Growth Medium, the spores will form into mycelium within this fluid suspension. This is to as fluid culture, or LC for short. Fluid Culture Growth Medium can be used to vaccinate substrate and cakes on its own. Fluid culture development medium has a higher success rate and will be significantly more stable than attempting to grow the spores without the use of LC. In a nutshell, using LCs will increase the number of mushrooms available.

Please keep in mind that the Liquid Culture Growth Medium will not work well with our spore needles.

Study spores and research using a microscope

The spores’ wondrous world. Many of our customers are scientists conducting research on these differences in their own home laboratories. After preparing your microscope slide, apply some Pollock P. tampanensis spore solution to it. A microscope covering glass should be to protect the specimen. A magnification of 1000x or higher is for Psilocybe tampanensis and Panaeolus cyanescens spore research.

The syringe and reusing it

After inoculating the substrate, cake, or LC with Pollock P. tampanensis, you can reuse the empty syringe after sterilizing the needle. This can be done with a lighter or a spirit burner. Keep the needle in the flame long enough for it to glow orange. Allow it to cool before inserting the needle again. You can also order a sterile needle separately instead of reusing one.


Refrigerate the Pollock P. tampanensis vial between 2°C and 8°C (35°F and 46°F). When storing the vial, keep the’septa protecting stopper cap’ in place. After removing the protective cap, always use an alco prep to sterilize the septa before inserting the syringe.
